01The challenge

Generative AI threatened to imitate the work that made Adopter different.

Adopter is a B Corp marketing agency working with climate-solution clients. Their differentiation is a particular voice and a deep sector knowledge that took years to build. Generative AI raised an uncomfortable question: a competitor could use a stock model to imitate that voice cheaply, and a client could do it themselves.

The team brought two needs into the engagement. They wanted practical prompt engineering they could actually use day-to-day, and they wanted a strategy that articulated where AI helps the work and where it threatens the differentiation. They were also preparing a Cambridge business accelerator application and needed the AI story written clearly enough to land with reviewers.

  • B Corp values stay at the centre: no shortcut that compromises mission.
  • Adopter's voice and sector knowledge are the moat. AI assists, never imitates.
  • Tools and prompts must be usable by the team without an engineer in the loop.
  • Accelerator application needed AI articulated for a non-AI audience.
03What we built

Hands-on prompt engineering, plus a strategy that names what stays human.

The engagement ran as practical advisory, not a deck. We sat with the team and built a prompt library against the kinds of work they actually do: idea generation for new campaigns, market copy variations, creative writing prompts tuned to their voice. Each prompt was adapted to Adopter's sector and tone rather than a generic template.

Alongside the library we wrote the differentiation strategy: where the agency's unique knowledge and style sits, what generic AI tools cannot match, and how to build an internal data library that compounds that advantage rather than erodes it. The accelerator application support drew from the same work: the AI opportunity articulated in mission terms, not feature terms.

  • Prompt library tuned to Adopter's voice across idea generation, copy, and creative writing.
  • Differentiation strategy framing where AI assists and where it stays out.
  • Internal data library guidance: what to collect, how to keep it private.
  • Accelerator application input on the AI opportunity inside the B Corp mission.
04Outcomes

A Cambridge accelerator place and a team that can use AI without losing the voice.

Cambridge accelerator

Adopter was accepted onto the Cambridge business accelerator, with the AI strategy work feeding directly into the application.

Prompt library in use

Team uses the prompt library daily for idea generation and market copy variations. Adopter's voice stays the voice on the page.

Values intact

B Corp mission and differentiation framed explicitly in the strategy. AI never asked to do the work that makes the agency the agency.

Confidence on next steps

Internal data library guidance turned a vague concern about future AI competition into a roadmap the team can act on.
